Issues: Public Safety

Keeping Greenwich citizens safe and secure is our town government's first responsibility. Our fire and police departments, GEMS, Greenwich Red Cross and other emergency management personnel work to keep all Greenwich residents safe and secure.  Lin will ensure that these professionals have the training, equipment and support they need to do their jobs effectively.

Few of our policemen, firemen, and EMT's can afford to live in Greenwich.  Lin knows this must change.  Fast response time is critical in an emergency and dedicated public servants should have the option to be residents of our community, not be forced to be commuters.

Workforce housing will be a priority in a Lin Lavery administration for first responders as well as teachers.  Potential solutions ranging from deals with local real estate developers to tax credits will be examined.   Lin believes public servants should have access to workforce housing.  She will not allow our safety to be compromised by political maneuvering.
