Lin Lavery for First Selectman :: Seniors

Issues: Senior Citizens

We must do everything we can for the citizens who built Greenwich into the town we cherish. Lin’s plans for supporting seniors in town are predicated on respect and delivering services to those who most need them, all of her ideas underscored by the need to look towards the future and prepare Greenwich for a growing senior population.

We need plans for a state of the art senior center, a pressing requirement for the past decade. The current center cannot serve the population that depends on it. We need solid plans in place, plans that have been neglected by the current administration. Lin knows that the senior community is too crucial to Greenwich to neglect the center, and she will work to make sure the quality of life to which seniors are accustomed never suffers.

Greenwich needs continued Senior Tax Relief for the members of our community who most vulnerable. Those individuals who live on a fixed income with rising medical and prescription costs should not be punished by the politics of Town Hall. Lin promises never to break her word to seniors, as has been done over the past several months.

The leaders of the town need to protect seniors and treat them with dignity and respect. If town government does its job, those citizens who have given the most to Greenwich will always receive that which they deserve.
